MANTECH seeks a motivated, career customer-oriented Metals Technology Machinist to join our team in Panama City, FL. This is an onsite position.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our ManTech Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, and repairing precision aerospace parts and components using manual (non-CNC) machinery. You will work with a variety of aerospace-grade materials, including aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and advanced composites, while strictly adhering to regulations, AS9100 quality standards, and precise engineering blueprints.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment.

  • Fabrication, repair, and modification of aerospace weapon system (LCAC) and ground support equipment components to extremely tight tolerances using advanced metalworking techniques.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and models.

  • Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for each specific job.

  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.

  • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other related tools.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor tool wear to ensure optimal machine performance and prevent production delays.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and aerospace quality management systems guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 4+ years of experience operating metals technology machinery and performing machinist and metals technology associated fabrication functions.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

  • Proficiency in machining and fabricating process and procedures.

  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal military or vocational training program in metals technology (e.g., USAF 2A7X1 or equivalent).

  • Experience with aerospace-grade metals and alloys to include Inconel, 6061/7075 Aluminum, Stainless Steel.

  • Prior experience with military aircraft, aerospace or LCAC maintenance operations.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance or ability to get an Interim Secret before starting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position while operating machining equipment.

  • Must be able to move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and operate machinery for extended periods.

  • Frequently communicate with team members and supervisors and must be able to exchange accurate information.
