Job Description


Front Desk Receptionist needed in Portage, MI!

We are looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service to our patients. The Front Desk Receptionist communicates with patients regarding their insurance and treatment plans, and with insurance companies regarding benefits, claims and pre-authorizations. You will also be responsible for checking patients in/out for appointments, scheduling and answering phones.

Schedule: Full-time, Mondays through Thursdays

  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 7:00 AM to 4:50 PM (closed 12:00–1:00 PM for lunch)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Essential Duties:

  • Deliver excellent patient customer service and support a strong team environment
  • Commit to professional and personal growth

  • Problem-solve independently and collaborate effectively
  • Show empathy and build trust with patients and teammates
  • Check patients in and out for appointments
  • Register new patients, correctly inputting demographic and insurance information
  • Determine insurance eligibility, limitations and payment estimates necessary for accurate treatment plans
  • Send claims to insurance companies with needed documentation
  • Prepare needed paperwork for visits
  • Schedule appointments
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient texts and emails
  • Process patient payments

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Maintain professionalism and top-notch customer service in a fast-paced setting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards and safety procedures
  • Proficient with dental software (Eaglesoft preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organization skills, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to accept feedback and follow instructions

Licenses and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum of one-year relevant dental experience
