Opportunity
Kohler is seeking a Project Leader – Marketing and Communications – Sustainable Living to join the Sustainable Living Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Manager – Marcomm – Sustainable Living, this role leads cross-functional initiatives by building project plans, defining scope and requirements, and running an effective review cadence. The role provides actionable reporting, manages risks/issues/dependencies and change, and drives stakeholder alignment to deliver sustainable product growth, sales enablement, and purpose-driven brand storytelling.
The ideal candidate brings 2+ years leading complex marketing and communications initiatives in matrixed organizations and is known for influencing without authority and translating strategy into executable roadmaps.
Specific Responsibilities
Project Leadership (Marketing & Communications)
- Lead end-to-end delivery for integrated marketing and communications initiatives—from intake and scoping through launch, adoption, and post-launch performance review—ensuring outcomes align to Sustainable Living priorities.
- Establish project governance (roles, decision rights, operating cadence) and manage integrated plans across scope, timeline, budget (as applicable), and resourcing.
- Lead stakeholder alignment and project reviews: facilitate tradeoffs, proactively manage risks/issues/dependencies, and provide executive-ready status, recommendations, and escalations.
- Define scope and requirements (objectives, audiences, deliverables, acceptance criteria, approvals) and manage change by documenting impacts and driving timely decisions when priorities shift.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and agency partners to ensure the right capabilities are engaged and deliverables are ready for launch and adoption.
Annual Global Impact Report (GIR)
- Lead planning and execution for the Annual Global Impact Report (GIR) marketing and communications, aligning owners, SMEs, and partners on content, scope, narrative, milestones, and approvals.
- Own the integrated GIR marcomm delivery plan plus supporting assets, including dependencies, quality expectations, and approval checkpoints.
- Oversee GIR asset governance from draft through final production.
- Drive reuse of GIR content and assets across the business in toolkits, presentations, and digital channels to support ongoing storytelling and selling. Support and deliver on business requests for content as needed.
- Capture lessons learned and follow-up actions to improve future planning, execution, and content reuse.
Sales & Market Enablement Support
- Lead development and rollout of purpose-driven content programs that enable sustainable product sales and market growth, aligning stakeholders on goals, audiences, and success measures.
- Orchestrate global and regional content toolkits for key moments (e.g., World Water Day, Earth Day), establishing an operating model for inputs, approvals, localization, and field adoption.
- Lead creative brief development, partner management, and asset readiness to ensure sustainable product content is delivered on time, on message, and fit for channel.
- Lead ongoing updates to KOHLER.com content by clarifying requirements and coordinating reviews/approvals to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery (e.g., sustainable product storytelling, transparency/“Our Impact” content, and e-commerce integrations).
Sustainable Living Marketing Enablement & Resource Stewardship
- Lead the governance, evolution, and continuous improvement of Sustainable Living marketing and communications tools/resources—setting standards and improving ways of working to increase speed, quality, and consistency in storytelling and selling.
- Own ways of working for key platforms and repositories (e.g., DAM, Digital Hub, SharePoint, KohlerCompany.com): structure/access, content standards, and update cadence aligned to business needs.
- Maintain core storytelling and selling resources (toolkits, newsletters, and internal/external communications assets).
- Partner cross functionally to ensure Sustainable Living content is consistently integrated into sales, marketing, and communications workflows.
- Lead quarterly performance reporting and KPI reviews; synthesize insights and recommendations to improve content effectiveness, stakeholder adoption, and business impact.
Cross Functional Collaboration & Enablement
- Lead cross-functional planning and follow-through with Sustainable Living, Sales, Brand, Digital, PR, and Global Marketing teams to drive quality delivery and shared accountability.
- Provide review and feedback to ensure materials meet channel needs and quality standards.
- Ensure deliverables align with Kohler brand standards and Sustainable Living messaging, including appropriate review of sustainability-related claims.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience leading complex projects or programs within marketing, communications, or integrated delivery environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple workstreams, vendors, and senior stakeholders
- Proven strength in stakeholder leadership: facilitation, conflict resolution, risk/issue management, and decision support in a matrixed environment
- Ability to build and run integrated plans, operating rhythms, and executive-ready status reporting (including clear actions, owners, and timelines)
- Strong understanding of marketing execution across digital, content, campaign, and enablement channels
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Working knowledge of project management practices (planning, tracking/reporting, change control) and ability to manage risks, issues, and dependencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a matrixed or global organization
- Familiarity with digital content platforms, DAM systems, and marketing collaboration tools
- Background supporting purpose driven, sustainability, or corporate impact communications
- Experience with change management, process improvement, and scaling repeatable ways of working across teams
- Experience partnering with agencies and external vendors

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
