Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This travel nursing position is an opportunity to provide critical care on a Multi Care Unit serving diverse acuities including ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg patients in Prescott, AZ. This combined acuity unit offers focused care with 10 beds and patient ratios varying by acuity: ICU (1:2), PCU (1:4), and Med-Surg (1:5-6). Support from nurse aides is available with ratios of 10-15 patients per NA, and RNs provide primary care to PCU and Med-Surg patients when aides are not assigned.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with at least 2 years ICU experience; one year ICU plus one year PCU or Med-Surg experience from larger facilities may be considered
  • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% on or before contract signing (up to two attempts allowed)
  • Experience titrating drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
  • Ability to interpret 12-lead EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms at the bedside
  • Compliance with a strict radius ruleno full-time, part-time, or PRN employment in past year with certain affiliated healthcare systems within 50 miles
  • Willingness to float within acute care units including Emergency, MST, Pediatrics, and ICU/PCU on West Campus, with appropriate notice

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care across ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg levels, managing complex cases including sepsis, respiratory failure, post-operative complications, and more
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy and Remote Monitor Techs
  • Participate in weekend, holiday, and potential standby scheduling rotations
  • Adhere to dress code policies and complete unit-specific orientation

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1930-0730)
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend (Friday/Saturday nights or Saturday/Sunday days)
  • Holiday rotation and standby as needed based on census
