Job DescriptionCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Pittsburgh, PA, this travel nursing opportunity specializes in Orthopedic Operating Room Technicians within a focused surgical team. The position involves supporting two orthopedic ORs during the week with a dedicated group of six staff members, including three RNs and three scrub techs, ensuring efficient surgical case management.
Schedule:
- Daylight shifts on a rotating weekly basis:
5:30 AM 2:00 PM
6:30 AM 3:00 PM
7:30 AM until cases finish (includes elective surgeries and any add-ons) - On-call coverage
- Weekend call from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, requiring two weekends in a six-week rotation
- Weekend shifts focus on call coverage only; no elective cases scheduled during weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare and assist during orthopedic surgeries
- Manage elective cases and any add-ons, with flexibility to work beyond scheduled shift end times when necessary (usually not exceeding two hours)
- Provide on-call coverage for weekend surgical cases in a low-volume call environment
- Support a small, dedicated surgical team to maintain high-quality patient care
Qualifications and Skills Desired:
- Experience as an Operating Room Technician in orthopedic surgery

- Comfort with occasionally extending shifts to complete surgeries
