Job DescriptionBachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school setting located in Live Oak, CA. This role focuses on supporting students with moderate to severe behavior challenges, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact within the educational environment. The position is scheduled to start as soon as possible and will continue through June 3rd, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
- Work with students exhibiting moderate to severe behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with school staff to implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Communicate effectively with educators, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
- Experience working in school environments, preferably with special education or behaviorally challenged caseloads.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to manage challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism.
- Availability to work 16 hours per week, typically two days per week.
