Accountant

Position Overview

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our collaborative and family-oriented Accounting team. This role focuses on accounts payable, inventory management, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll and accounts receivable duties, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel
• Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts
• Calculate and record job costs with accuracy and timeliness
• Perform backup duties as needed, along with various other accounting related duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
• Ability and willingness to keep and maintain confidentiality
• Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
• Technical proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Professional accounting experience working in a Manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.) a plus
• Desire to continue to grow through continuing training
