What you will do
- Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
- Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
- Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
- These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc., to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer’s signature.
- Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What we look for
Required:
- Basic mechanical aptitude with an interest in learning hands-on technical skills; experience in automotive, plumbing, or related trades is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to learn how to read and understand blueprints, submittals, and product or operational manuals.
- Comfortable using smartphones and basic mobile applications (iPhone)
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, and moving tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50–70 lbs
- Willing and able to work in a variety of environments, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment up to 40 feet, as well as working in crawl spaces, ducts, and above ceilings
- Flexible availability, including occasional weekends, to support customer needs
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation; occasional overnight travel may be required
- Customer-focused with a professional and friendly attitude when working with clients
- Ability to keep tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory organized to support daily work activities
- Commitment to learning and following all safety policies and procedures
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn new skills
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment background, motor vehicle, and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a required State Fire Protection License (training or support may be provided, as applicable)
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: Starting at $22.00, based on experience. (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
