Job DescriptionMaster's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Occupational Therapist specializing in school settings, based in Grand Haven, MI. The role involves providing support across multiple classrooms within local community school districts, serving a diverse student population with special needs.
Responsibilities include delivering occupational therapy services to approximately 49 students, ranging from preschool through 8th grade. The caseload primarily consists of students with moderate cognitive impairments and Autism, including those in Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs. Services will be provided in resource rooms and to a small Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) group. Thorough documentation and Medicaid billing will be completed through EdPlan, with full orientation and software training provided to ensure efficient workflow. Collaboration with a dedicated team of educators and specialists is essential to maximize student success.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school environments
- Proficient in supporting students with moderate cognitive impairments and Autism
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing and use of documentation systems such as EdPlan is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with educational teams
- Ability to manage caseloads in multiple school locations
Location:
- This full-time contract position is based in Grand Haven, MI, covering schools in Fruitport Community Schools and Ravenna Public Schools.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 3:45 PM
