Job DescriptionCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced Surgical Technologists or Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) with a strong background in orthopedic and spine surgeries. You will support a high-volume orthopedic and spine specialty hospital known for advanced procedures including robotics such as Mako, Rosa, and Cori systems. The role requires precision, efficiency, and adaptability in fast-paced operating rooms.
Location
Positioned in a vibrant suburban area less than 30 minutes from central hubs, this facility offers a blend of community atmosphere with access to metropolitan amenities. The hospital is a 111-bed specialty center focused on orthopedic and spine care, housing a 20-bed OR suite typically active with 17-18 operating rooms running concurrently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment for orthopedic and spine procedures, including general, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, total joint, and robotics-assisted surgeries
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure OR readiness for rapid turnover in a high-volume setting
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to optimize surgical outcomes
- Participate in scheduled call rotations, providing after-hours support with a minimum 2-hour call-back response time
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CST or Surgical Tech, preferably in orthopedics and spine surgery
- Familiarity with robotic platforms: Mako, Rosa, Cori
- NBSTSA certification preferred but not mandatory
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reside within 30 minutes of the hospital to meet call-back requirements
Schedule & Contract Details
- 10-hour day shifts with call rotation, including weekend and holiday coverage on call
- Contract position, start date within two weeks after credentialing and orientation
- Credentials due one week prior to start, including DS, CBC, and tuberculosis screening within 90 days
