Sourcing Specialist

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and/or services from suppliers. Prepares and evaluates supplier quotations and services to determine most competitive solution based upon a total cost of ownership.  Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular spend area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within assigned spend areas. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate, purchase and expedite goods and services at a competitive cost for assigned facilities and/or spend category(ies).
  • Receive and review requisitions and approve orders from approved suppliers.
  • Analyze available supply sources and place orders on the basis of total cost, quality and delivery.

  • Actively participate in the RFx/acquisition process to secure goods/services in the assigned area of spend to ensure competitiveness and to limit risk to the business.
  • Review purchase requirements with internal customer(s) to develop business need
  • Recommend alternative material or methods based on knowledge of market availability.
  • Obtain supplier quotations/proposals on prospective purchases.
  • Review bid proposals, quotes and make recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers while aware of culture, currency, geographic, and political environment.
  • Expedite goods and services as required.


  • Support the supplier approval and management process
  • Identifying and maintaining contact with suppliers
  • Visiting facilities as a team member to conduct supplier assessments with respect to business practices, quality of operations, opportunities for continuous improvement
    Supporting resolution of warranty, payment and service issues with suppliers

  • Maintain required records such as quotes, price lists, supplier correspondence and supplier performance data

  • Oversee Procure to Payment process
    Implement and support procurement systems.
    Maintain standards and ensure policies are enforced.
    Support AP functions to ensure swift and on time payment.

  • Support new business and Existing business capital expansion projects.
    Partner with A&ID and Project Management teams on purchasing of goods.
    Maintain purchasing records.
    Establish existing and new suppliers.

  • Perform other related job assignments as required.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, Business Operations, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management preferred. 
  • Proficient in use of all common computer Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook.
  • Capable of performing Internet navigation, creating and managing data collection tables, and generating documents and charts.
  • Jagger/ Epro and SAP experience is desirable.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
