Position Overview

• Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Position Type: Locum Tenens

• Start Date: May 1, 2026 (or ASAP)

• Setting: Hospital-Based

• Trauma Level: Level I

• EMR: Epic

• Patient Population: Adult

• Average Volume: ~1 case per weekend

Schedule & Call

• Preferred Coverage: Friday Evening – Monday Morning

• Call Requirement: Yes (24-hour call)

• Additional Coverage: 1 week of call per month (open to options)

• Weekend Coverage Required

Surgical Capabilities

Work with:

• 2 Dedicated CV Surgery ORs (Daytime Access)

• Advanced surgical support and infrastructure

Required Procedures:

• Adult Cardiac Surgery

• General Thoracic Surgery

• CABG

• Heart Valve Repair/Replacement

• Tube Thoracostomy

• Pericardial Window

• Thoracotomy (Lung Biopsy, Resection, Pneumonectomy)

• Thoracotomy Decortication

• Mediastinal Surgery

✅ Required Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Active Michigan License (or willing to obtain)

• ❤️ BLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications

• NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days)

• ⚖️ Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred)
